HPLC column selection
ST configuration – high pressure
Up to six HPLC columns can be rapidly accessed with a column selection valve, eliminating
instrument downtime involved in exchanging columns and leakage due to repeated changing
of tubing fittings. The columns are installed as a part of the loop system, as shown in this
drawing. A 6 position valve can support 6 columns.
Sample flows from the injector through the ST valve to the inlet of the selected column, and
from the outlet of the column through the valve to the detector
