Mt. Rainier from Gig Harbor

THINGS TO DO

Many of our guests like nothing better than kicking back in a deck chair with a glass of wine and a good book. But if you're seeking a little more action — have you ever wanted to try a stand-up paddle board? How about a fly-fishing class from one of the local experts? Both are very convenient to Arabella's Landing. Want to learn more about how the classic wooden boats were built? Check out the trawler restoration in progress at the Harbor History Museum, or schedule an outing on the locally-designed Thunderbird at the Gig Harbor Boat Shop.

Skansie Brothers Park, a couple of blocks from the marina, is the location for much of the Harbor's special summer activities. There is a concert every Tuesday, a farmers' market on Wednesday and Sunday, and a movie on many Saturdays. All of the activities are free.

If you like to time your visits to take in the local festivals, head to the Maritime Gig festival in June, the Summer Art Festival in July, or the Harbor Wine and Food Festival in August. If you're not just a fair weather sailor, come decorate your boat and join the Lighted Boat Parade in December, or just enjoy the Tree Lighting ceremony at Skansie Brothers park.
