Cost Accountant

Immediate job opening for a motivated candidate with experience in financial accounting, analysis, and control in areas such as general ledger accounts, cost centers, work centers, production orders, and journal entries in a standard cost environment.

Responsibilities

Track cost variances (purchased as well as manufactured), including monthly variance recap reports
Assist in the review, analysis, and presentation of the effects of changes in product design, materials, and manufacturing processes
Supervise quarterly reporting, monthly cycle counting, and fiscal year end physical inventory
Pursue problem solving, interfacing with our several satellite manufacturing operations and with other departments such as accounts payable and receivable, process planning, MRP, and purchasing
Assist in the future creation and implementation of departmental budgetary procedures and controls
Analyze excess, slow-moving, and obsolete inventories
Perform month-end and year-end closings

Requirements

Minimum three years experience in a parts manufacturing environment
BS in Accounting or Business Administration (or be currently working toward)
Proficiency in Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, Power-Point
(APICS certification a plus)
Proficiency in ERP software systems: SAP R3, Syteline, Oracle/JD Edwards, Macola, Peoplesoft
