Trace gas analyzers

The VICI TGA (trace gas analyzer) is a complete chromatographic system dedicated to the analysis of trace level (ppb to low ppm) impurities in fixed gases. The system can be configured simply for a single gas, such as impurities in hydrogen, or for a range of different gases, such as impurities in helium, hydrogen, and oxygen. These systems have been produced for over 20 years, and hundreds are in use around the clock, around the world.

Each TGA system includes a control module which provides temperature control, valve switching sequences, and detector electronics. Valco offers a variety of control modules to accommodate almost every laboratory or process requirement. A number of options, including alarms, trend monitoring, and telemetry, are available to permit Valco TGAs to meet the requirements of the most demanding process environments.

The ITGA is a turnkey integrated trace gas analyzer designed for totally automated analysis of low ppb impurities in bulk H₂, O₂, N₂, Ar, and He. Features include fully-automated analysis selection with up to 12 preset analysis types, and automated customizable data collection, analysis, and reporting using included Clarity data acquisition software.

Options include an analog trending module which provides 4 - 20 mA analog outputs with 8 separate channels and an automated sampling system which can be custom configured with up to 14 streams plus a dedicated calibration gas stream.

Our goal is to keep the chromatography as simple as possible so the focus is on results, not maintenance. The systems typically use a series of packed columns to perform the required chromatography. All the sample injection and switching valves are genuine Valco, specially tested for trace analysis. TGAs also use the VICI PDD (pulsed discharge detector) in helium photoionization mode, and therefore require ultra high purity helium carrier gas.
